Part 3 LMP - Adventure the First (or a wolf hunk is a terrible thing to waste)

Ander makes his way back to Ironvox and fills him in on the way back to the others and the mouth of the cave. When the heroes reunite the decide to head into the cave to see if they can find and rescue Sildar Hallwinter and perhaps find out some more about the abduction of their patron, Gundar Rockseeker.

As the adventurers enter the cave they discover that it is pitch black further in and form up to have Ironvox (who can see in the dark) lead the party along with Harold with a hand on his back, and bringing up the rear Solimon (who can also see in the dark) and Ander.

The walkway proceeds up the corridor on the right hand side as the slow shallow river take up most of the cavern. Almost immediately to the right is a cave entrance. Upon entering the cave the adventurers are assaulted by a heavy smell of animals and start to hear growling, far at the back end of the cave are two wolves chained to stakes. They start to attack the wolves and as the first of them fall, the second wolf breaks free and attacks Ironvox. He is knocked to the ground, but before the wolf can tear out his throat, Solimon hits the wolf with a ray of frost. Recovering from his ordeal with the wolf, Ironvox cuts a large chunk of the wolf and says "just in case we need it" and stuffs it into a sack hanging from his belt.

Upon further investigation of the cave the discover a slight heap of trash near the far end where the wolves were chained, Ironvox takes a look around and sees that their is a chimney of sorts that leads up about 40 feet or so. Ander volunteers to shimmy up the chimney as he is the smallest and most dexterous. Ander easily manages to reach the top of the chamber and ties a rope to a stalagmite to help the other members of his group up the chimney. As they enter Ironvox can hear some sounds that sound oddly like those that came from the wolves below. Thinking fast, Ironvox casts a light spell on his chunk of wolf and tosses it into the middle of the room, this draws the wolf out but also alerts those that are sharing the cave with it.
